The mother of a Derbyshire teen who was stabbed to death says she is still grieving the loss of her son and feels he could return home at any point. 17-year-old Benjamin Orton was stabbed to death by Eric Rudaks, then 16, in a Swadlincote alleyway at the Pipeworks.

Benjamin was treated by paramedics at the scene, but sadly died of his injuries on June 12 last year. He had been walking through the centre when a confrontation took place between themselves and Rudaks, reports Staffordshire Live.

Both Benjamin and Rudaks were carrying knives at the time of the incident. Rudaks went on to be convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 12 years detention after a trial at Derby Crown Court.
