There are many different types of treatments for mental health disorders and what treatment, or combination of treatments a person will receive will depend on the individual.
The most common types of treatment are therapy and medication.
Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): The most common form of therapy offered by the NHS. CBT is a type of talking therapy whereby you work through your issues and learn how to change your thoughts and behaviours.
Support groups and group therapy: Usually a group led by a trained therapist, others in the group are usually in a similar position as you and it can be useful to share experiences.
Counselling or psychotherapy: Whilst these may have different approaches, they both allow you to talk about your issues and help you to find out why you may feel a certain way.
