How media shapes teen habits
Let’s face it, in most cases the media/entertainment industry isn’t getting you outside and moving around. You’re most likely to bunker down in front of the TV for a favourite show or to play a video game. You’re still sedentary even while doing something positive like reading a newspaper or magazine. With these norms, you’re more likely to stay inside versus getting yourself out there and active during your teenage years, and that’s not always a good thing if you’re lacking balance.
