In the United Kingdom, approximately 12 million households keep pets. However, the question of their ethical treatment has always been a topic of debate. Is it right to keep animals as pets?
Firstly, people argue that pets bring joy and happiness to their owners. They can help reduce stress, prevent loneliness, and provide comfort to those with mental health issues. In addition, many people believe that pets help teach children important life lessons and develop empathy. Pets can encourage responsibility, such as getting children to feed and look after them. Moreover, they teach children how to handle relationships, to respect other living beings, and encourage physical exercise through active playtime.
