Can STIs be transmitted through condoms?

Condoms are your best defence against STIs when used correctly every single time you have sex. However, no method is 100% infallible. STIs like herpes or HPV, which spread through skin-to-skin contact, can still be transmitted through areas not covered by the condom. So, while condoms significantly reduce the risk, they can’t eliminate it completely.

Can you transmit an STI through kissing?

While most STIs do not easily spread through kissing, there are exceptions, such as herpes simplex virus (cold sores) and cytomegalovirus.
