But 2020 has not only ushered in an unexpected lay grounding in epidemiology, it has also seen a continued growth in consumer awareness of privacy rights, both driven by and reflected in an explosion of privacy and data protection regulation across the globe, even as Covid-19 spread.
With the publicising of issues such as location and health-related data collection and the growing need for employers to handle health-related employee data, privacy has an assured place in the spotlight through to 2021.
