AI stands for ‘artificial intelligence.’ It is a branch of computer science that involves the development of algorithms and software systems that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and natural language processing.
AI systems can be designed to operate autonomously or with human supervision, and they can be trained using large datasets to improve their performance over time. Some common AI techniques include machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
AI systems can be classified into two main categories: narrow or weak AI and general or strong AI. Narrow AI is designed to perform a specific task, such as facial recognition or language translation. These systems are highly specialised and cannot perform tasks outside of their designated area of expertise.
