Even as London faces record knife killings, the Mayor continues to undermine a system that has a proven record of tackling crime.

Ask yourself this question today: do you feel safe in London? Then ask the person next to you, and then ask the person next to them, and keep going until someone says ‘yes’. It may take some time.
Until every community can live, work, sleep, play and raise a family in our capital without fear, we cannot afford to stop being outraged about crime in the capital. Young boys being stabbed to death ought to be a rarity, yet in too many communities it is an expectation, with parents constantly worried about their children either joining a gang or being murdered by one.
