Volunteering is the act of giving your time, skills, and effort to help others without expecting payment in return. It can take many forms, from helping at a local community centre to supporting international charities. People volunteer for a variety of reasons, such as making a positive impact, gaining experience, or simply enjoying the feeling of helping others.
The current wave of marches and activism around the world is the largest in documented history, giving scientists the chance to study what makes for a successful campaign.
